Interim Finance Business Partner

About the role

Hays are partnering with a respected education organisation in Exeter to recruit an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner on a long‑term contract. This role offers a commercially focused finance professional the chance to join a collaborative finance team and support financial performance across a complex, evolving organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and planning processes.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and performance commentary.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
• Identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Support year‑end processes and audit requirements.
• Develop financial models and enhance management information.
• Contribute to finance projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Business Partner, Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to translate financial information into clear business insight.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
• PQ, QBE or ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Education sector experience advantageous but not essential.
