Intermediate Mechanical Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are working with an established multi‑disciplinary property and construction consultancy looking to appoint an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to its M&E team in Billericay. The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio, focusing on healthcare and education projects, supporting mechanical building services design from concept through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services designs across multiple projects.
• Produce calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
• Support projects from concept through construction and completion.
• Liaise directly with clients and understand project requirements.
• Review tenders and provide technical recommendations.
• Carry out site surveys, inspections and condition reports.
• Monitor installation works and project progress.
• Work with IES, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers and wider multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant CIBSE guidance, Building Regulations and industry standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical building services design.
• Experience using IES and AutoCAD.
• Revit experience preferred.
• Understanding of CIBSE guidance, Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Strong communication and project delivery skills.
