IT Engineer / IT Lead – Central Trust Team

About the role

This position supports a growing multi‑academy trust in the North West, delivering reliable and secure IT services that enable teaching, learning and day‑to‑day school operations. You will be based primarily in Trafford with occasional travel to other schools in Manchester and Liverpool.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive and reactive technical support to staff and students across allocated schools.
• Maintain and upgrade hardware, software, network infrastructure and related services.
• Manage service tickets, system updates and accurate asset records.
• Collaborate with school leaders, central IT colleagues and external suppliers to resolve issues.
• Support wider systems such as telephony, CCTV and access control.
• Contribute to school‑based IT projects and the development of an in‑house support team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in delivering IT support within an educational or similar environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication skills for advising users on safe and effective technology use.
• Willingness to travel between sites as needed.
