IT Manager

About the role

The position is based at a North Manchester site of a large multi‑academy trust. As IT Manager you will lead the delivery of reliable, secure and innovative technology for pupils and staff, combining hands‑on support with strategic network and cloud management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced IT support across hardware, software, cloud services and network infrastructure.
• Maintain and optimise network performance, connectivity, security and reliability.
• Champion the trust’s cloud‑first strategy, driving adoption of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and other cloud platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, acting as the primary escalation point.
• Manage servers, connectivity, end‑user devices and service‑desk ticket flow.
• Support ongoing improvement projects and mentor junior IT team members.

Required profile

• Experienced IT professional with a background in the education sector.
• Proven ability to manage a varied technical environment and lead a small IT team.
• Strong communication skills to work closely with teaching and support staff.
