IT Support Engineer

About the role

Our client, an international IT/Telecom service provider, is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join their 24/7 Operations Centre in London. The role involves first‑ and second‑level support for network, mobile and IoT services, ensuring rapid fault recovery and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage IoT, data, voice and mobile service alerts, handling fault tickets via service portal, email and telephone.
• Coordinate with third‑party suppliers, mobile operators and vendors to resolve incidents and escalations.
• Visit customer sites with vendors for troubleshooting, project work or maintenance contracts.
• Support remote engineers with service tests (SMS, mobile data, e‑calls) and produce ad‑hoc reports on customer issues.
• Participate in a 24/365 maintenance rota, travelling across Europe when required.

Required profile

• Fluent English with strong communication skills for customers, colleagues and third‑party vendors.
• Flexible approach, able to work outside normal hours and on a 4‑days‑on/4‑days‑off shift pattern.
• Proven customer‑facing experience and reliable attendance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Experience in network infrastructure installation, security, server and virtualization.
• CCNP, CCNA or JNCIP certification (or equivalent) and knowledge of IoT/mobile networking.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting across the OSI 7 layers for network and PC/server environments.
