IT System Technologist (Hybrid)

About the role

This hybrid position (three days in the office) offers an infrastructure professional the chance to shape and improve a growing UK transport business’s IT estate. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will support and develop Microsoft, cloud and network services while delivering projects that boost resilience, security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server environments.
• Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure to ensure seamless integration.
• Monitor the IT estate, proactively identify issues and resolve incidents.
• Implement and enforce system and security policies.
• Deliver infrastructure and systems projects in partnership with the Head of IT.
• Collaborate with third‑party suppliers to resolve technical problems and improve services.
• Research and introduce new technologies that enhance efficiency and security.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant IT standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Well‑rounded infrastructure professional comfortable taking ownership of technical challenges.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server.
• Background in cloud technologies, network services and IT security best practices.
• Proven ability to deliver technical projects from planning through to completion.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical colleagues.
