Lead Lawyer – Linked & Organised Fraud

About the role

This senior position leads a virtual team of counter‑fraud lawyers focused on linked and organised fraud operations. You will act as the lead handler for specific operations, coordinating robust technical strategies with clients and internal teams to ensure successful delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy technically and commercially sound strategies for linked & organised fraud cases.
• Supervise and peer‑review the work of counter‑fraud handlers and assistants.
• Maintain high technical quality, ensuring compliance with SRA Code of Conduct and internal SLAs.
• Build and nurture relationships with senior claims handlers, regulators and industry stakeholders.
• Drive business development by attracting new work and enhancing the firm’s profile.
• Monitor performance metrics, improve kick‑out rates and achieve client and internal KPIs.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or CILEX member with full practice rights.
• Extensive experience handling non‑delegated counter‑fraud cases.
• Proven ability to analyse trends and devise market‑leading fraud strategies.
• Strong supervisory experience with a track record of developing junior lawyers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and client‑care skills.
• High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Qualified solicitor / CILEX with necessary practice rights
• High‑level experience handling non‑delegated counter‑fraud cases
