Lead Lawyer – Property Risks & Coverage

About the role

Keoghs LLP, a leading insurance law firm, is seeking a talented insurance lawyer for its Property Risks & Coverage team. The role will be based in a regional office (Bolton, Birmingham or Bristol) and will specialise in high‑value subrogated property recovery files, typically exceeding £100K, with flexibility on location.

Key responsibilities

• Initial review and reporting of cases, including funding considerations.
• Investigating evidential matters and gathering evidence to establish cause of action.
• Instructing counsel and experts, conducting legal research and drafting documents.
• Attending conferences, trials and court appointments, and handling routine correspondence.
• Negotiating settlements, preparing Part 36 offers and managing ADR processes.
• Leading a mini‑team, setting objectives, supervising performance and supporting professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with solid technical capability.
• Minimum three years of claimant‑side property litigation experience.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload of high‑value subrogated property recovery files.
• Experience in client development and delivering training seminars.
