Learning Mentor

About the role

Whitmore Park Primary School in Coventry is recruiting a Learning Mentor to support pupils who need help and support to overcome barriers to learning, both inside and outside school. The post is term-time only, at 35 working hours, with a salary of £27,274 to £30,515 pro rata per annum. Applications close at midnight on 15 November 2026; interviews are scheduled for the week beginning 16 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to meet the needs of pupils who face barriers to learning, so they can reach their full potential.
• Develop positive one-to-one mentoring relationships with pupils identified as needing support.
• Contribute to raising standards of attainment, improving attendance, reducing exclusions and maintaining good standards of behaviour.
• Support all children to feel happy and safe in school.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm and motivation to share the school's vision of high-quality education for all children.
• An enhanced DBS is required, along with two satisfactory references before interview or appointment.
• A visit to the school is strongly recommended.
