Learning Support Assistant – KS1 Small Group & SEN Support

About the role

You will support primary‑aged learners in a vibrant Wembley school, delivering one‑to‑one and small‑group sessions that build confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. Working closely with teachers, you will create a calm, inclusive environment for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them feel safe and valued.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted learning support for KS1 pupils, both individually and in small groups.
• Run a dedicated nurture group for SEN students, providing tailored activities and emotional support.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt lessons and resources for diverse learning needs.
• Monitor progress, record observations and share feedback with staff and parents.
• Promote the school’s values of fairness, compassion and community in everyday interactions.

Required profile

• Patient, resilient and kind with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
• Experience supporting primary‑age children, preferably in a school setting.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and safeguarding standards.

Required skills

• Ability to plan and deliver differentiated learning activities.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with pupils, staff and families.
• Basic understanding of SEN strategies and inclusive classroom practices.
