Learning Support Assistant – Personal Care (North London)

About the role
We are seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide personal care and academic support to students with additional learning needs in a North London further‑education setting. The role is temporary and ongoing, offering a chance to make a real difference to young people’s independence and inclusion.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality academic, physical and communication support to students with SEND, autism, ADHD or complex needs.
- Assist students with personal care tasks such as toileting, feeding (including PEG), mobility support and dressing while preserving dignity.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to implement tailored support plans.
- Facilitate student participation in lessons, enrichment activities, educational visits and college events.
- Maintain accurate progress records and contribute to review meetings and target‑setting.
- Promote wellbeing, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion at all times.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting young people or adults with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Experience or willingness to provide personal care, including toileting, feeding and mobility assistance.
- Ability to work one‑to‑one and in small groups, encouraging independence and achievement.
