Learning Support Assistant – Special School

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist setting, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with special educational needs. You will join a supportive team in a well‑equipped special school in South Birmingham.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1‑2‑1 and small‑group assistance to pupils with SEND.
• Support learning, communication and social development.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs.
• Ideally holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / LSA qualification.
• Patient, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed.
