Learning Support Mentor (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking a Learning Support Mentor to join our team in Manchester, working with young people who display challenging behaviour and have special educational needs. The role can be placed in a pupil referral unit, specialist setting or mainstream school, depending on your preference.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and group academic support, including extra‑curricular activities.
• Implement and maintain effective behaviour management strategies.
• Support pupils with SEN/SEMH, adapting interventions to individual needs.
• Collaborate with staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people who exhibit difficult behaviour.
• Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviour using proven techniques.
• Passionate about supporting learning and resilient under pressure.
• Experience with SEN/SEMH pupils is essential.
• Degree preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Strong behaviour management techniques.
• Ability to deliver academic support both individually and in groups.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £110‑£120.
