About the role
University College Birmingham is seeking a full‑time Lecturer to teach Hospitality and Events across its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The role is teaching‑focused, with an emphasis on engaging students, integrating digital and AI tools, and supporting research supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures and seminars in Hospitality and Events for both UK and Malaysia campuses.
- Develop and update curriculum to incorporate digital tools, AI applications and industry trends.
- Provide academic guidance, mentorship and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise student research projects and contribute to programme validation activities.
- Collaborate with the Business School to enhance digital learning environments.
Required profile
- Relevant industry experience in hospitality, events management or related fields.
- Passion for teaching and supporting student success.
- Willingness to engage with students in the UK and potentially online or on‑site in Malaysia.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and academic quality.
Required skills
- Experience with digital learning tools and AI applications in an educational context.
- Ability to design and deliver curriculum for higher education.
- Research supervision and project guidance capabilities.
