Legal Compliance Officer – Litigation

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established claimant law firm to find a Legal Compliance Officer who will support the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) in a busy litigation environment. The role is hybrid, based in Manchester city centre, and offers the chance to manage day‑to‑day compliance and risk activities that keep the practice running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management of complaints, professional negligence claims and data subject access requests.
• Assist with regulatory compliance, AML and client due‑diligence checks, and help identify and mitigate risk.
• Maintain compliance records, central risk registers and professional indemnity notifications.
• Carry out file audits, compliance reviews and support internal compliance projects.
• Research regulatory developments and implement necessary changes.

Required profile

• At least two years’ experience in a litigation environment.
• Previous experience supporting legal compliance or risk management functions.
• Good understanding of SRA regulations and professional standards for law firms.
• Strong written and verbal communication, excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Proclaim case‑management system (or similar).
