Legal Counsel

About the role

Escode, the global leader in software resilience, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its high‑performing legal team. This role is ideal for a recently qualified or trainee solicitor who wants to develop expertise in commercial contract law and software escrow.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and legal documents.
• Develop and maintain legal templates for evolving services and sales channels.
• Deliver legal training to new joiners across UK sales and operational teams.
• Provide clear, actionable advice on commercial, IP and dispute matters.
• Collaborate with compliance, corporate legal and company secretarial teams on cross‑functional issues.
• Support international offices on English‑law aspects of contracts.
• Research and advise on specialist topics relevant to the software escrow industry.
• Manage day‑to‑day legal queries and support broader team objectives.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in working within a legal environment (in‑house or private practice).
• Ability to communicate legal advice clearly to non‑legal audiences.
• Proven collaboration and relationship‑building skills across diverse teams.
• Strong organisational ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Confidence and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
