Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant (Temp to Perm)

About the role

We are seeking a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester. This full‑time position starts as a temporary role with the prospect of becoming permanent, supporting children during the crucial Early Years Foundation Stage.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS activities aligned with the curriculum.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to foster learning and development.
• Promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth through structured play.
• Support early literacy, numeracy and communication skill development.
• Contribute to observations and document children’s learning journeys.
• Encourage positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Build constructive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant EYFS qualification (essential).
• Previous experience in an EYFS setting, either in a primary school or nursery.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children.
• Ability to work collaboratively while taking initiative when needed.
