Lift Service Engineer – Birmingham

About the role

Join Schindler’s Birmingham team as a Lift Service Engineer, delivering routine servicing, repairs and inspections for lifts and escalators across the West Midlands. You will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting the company’s commitment to quality urban mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and minor repairs of lift equipment, including component replacement.
• Perform fault rectification, conducting checks on speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved tools.
• Inspect and adjust escalator installations in line with company procedures.
• Complete service documentation and reinstate lifts after maintenance.
• Execute fault‑finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service.

Required profile

• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in lift maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate independently with a flexible approach.
