Litigated Motor Recoveries Claims Handler

About the role

Join a leading insurance law firm as a Claims Handler focused on Uninsured Loss Recoveries. You will own complex litigated motor recovery cases from instruction through to resolution, maximising financial outcomes for clients while working in a hybrid Liverpool‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review new instructions, identify technical issues and set clear litigation strategies.
• Manage a varied caseload, meeting KPIs, SLAs and court deadlines.
• Draft legal documents, issue proceedings and monitor court timetables.
• Negotiate quantum and settlement outcomes.
• Maintain accurate case records in the case management system.
• Act as a peer‑review and sign‑off point for litigation referrals.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team targets and foster a high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or Litigation Executive with proven experience in litigated motor claims.
• Strong knowledge of the Road Traffic Act, RTA insurers and Article 75.
• End‑to‑end claims handling experience, from assessment to settlement.
• Demonstrated ability to draft legal proceedings and manage cases through court.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Calm, resilient under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with case management systems.
• Competence using general IT tools for litigation workflows.
