Logistics Network Review Manager

About the role

This 6‑month fixed‑term position is a high‑impact project role for a logistics professional who will lead a strategic review of the UK and European logistics network for an international wholesale distributor. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and external partners to benchmark current arrangements, analyse costs and performance, and shape future supply‑chain strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate existing UK and European 3PL contracts, costs and operational performance.
• Benchmark alternative logistics providers and identify network optimisation opportunities.
• Review inbound ocean freight and container contracts to improve cost, service and resilience.
• Assess the potential for direct container solutions and expanded freight options.
• Develop robust cost models and risk‑reduction strategies.
• Produce clear, evidence‑based recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing or reviewing 3PL providers and logistics contracts.
• Strong understanding of European warehousing, distribution and supply‑chain networks.
• Experience with Far East import operations, ocean freight and container logistics.
• Excellent analytical, commercial and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex analysis into practical recommendations.
• Hands‑on, delivery‑focused approach with solid project‑management skills.
• Background in wholesale, consumer goods, FMCG, retail or apparel is advantageous.
