Machine Minder

About the role

The Machine Minder will act as the equipment operations expert within our busy production environment. You will be the first point of contact for any machinery issues, ensuring smooth line change‑overs and supporting the delivery of the production plan.

Key responsibilities

• Support the production plan by managing equipment operation and line change‑overs.
• Serve as the initial contact for equipment issues, escalating to Engineering when required.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, health & safety checks, and hygiene preparation.
• Organise set‑up, change‑overs, and start‑ups of production lines.
• Maintain line‑side spares and consumables to minimise downtime.
• Maximise equipment utilisation and complete planned maintenance activities.
• Prepare and submit daily check sheets, shift hand‑over reports, and health & safety start‑up checks.
• Identify problems, set priorities, and escalate according to established triggers.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment.
• Knowledge of health & safety legislation and requirements.
• Working knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
• PC literate and able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

Required skills

• Mechanical knowledge to NVQ Level 2 standard.
• Understanding of asset care principles.
• Mechanical and electrical appreciation training.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
