Manufacturing Quality Lead (Aerospace)

About the role

The Manufacturing Quality Lead will oversee aerospace product manufacturing to ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory standards and internal quality systems. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role drives a right‑first‑time culture and continuous improvement across the production floor.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Quality Inspectors and Technicians, fostering a proactive quality mindset.
• Ensure products are manufactured to engineering drawings, specifications and AS9100/AS9102 standards.
• Review and approve manufacturing documentation, inspection records and quality reports, including First Article Inspection (FAI) compliance.
• Lead investigations of internal, customer and supplier non‑conformances using 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone analysis.
• Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and support Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement projects to enhance product quality and process capability.

Required profile

• Significant experience in aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing quality environments.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 and related aerospace regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead quality teams and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a track record of managing non‑conformances and CAPA.
• Effective communication and coaching skills to support manufacturing staff.
