Marine Cargo Underwriter

About the role

We are partnering with a respected insurer to expand their London underwriting team. The Marine Cargo Underwriter will manage a diverse portfolio of UK and EU marine cargo business, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewals across Marine Cargo risks, including Stock Throughput business.
• Develop and manage broker relationships across the London market.
• Assess risk, determine pricing, and negotiate terms within authority.
• Monitor portfolio performance and profitability.
• Support business development and market engagement activities.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on underwriting strategy and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience underwriting Marine Cargo business.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Confidence in building lasting broker relationships.
• Potential to consider candidates stepping up from an Assistant Underwriter role.
