Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – £40k-£43k + OTE

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a global chemical company with plants in over 27 countries. The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of rotating and static equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, gear boxes, motors, bearings and heat exchangers.
• Diagnose equipment failures and execute timely repairs.
• Carry out safety inspections of plant machinery and support shutdown activities.
• Participate in plant safety programmes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience in industrial plant environments.
• Ability to work in a small team on a rotating shift pattern (Week 1: 7 am‑3 pm, Week 2: 10 am‑6 pm).
• Willingness to obtain fully funded ATEX certification.

Required skills

• Maintenance of bearings, motors, gear boxes, pumps and heat exchangers.
• Conducting safety inspections and adhering to ATEX standards.
• Proficiency in reactive and preventive maintenance techniques.

• Salary £40,000‑£43,000 per year plus OTE up to £53,000.
