MGV Driver – Part‑time Delivery Role

About the role

Royal Mail is seeking a part‑time MGV Driver to join its Birmingham Central Delivery Office team. You will be the public face of the service, delivering bulk mail and parcels across the local community while enjoying flexible shift patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Collect bulk mail from major customers and Post Offices.
• Transport mail between Mail Centres and Delivery Offices at scheduled times.
• Load, unload and sort items in the van for onward distribution.
• Drive assigned routes safely, rain or shine, and complete walking segments of each round.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated and comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
• Strong community focus and willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
• Ability to follow flexible shift patterns and maintain personal fitness.
• Some experience in a customer‑facing role is desirable.

Required skills

• C1 category driving licence (UK address) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Valid Periodic Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and Drivers Qualification Card (DQC) with at least 35 hours of training.
• Ability to present a Digital Tachograph Card at assessment.
