Midday Supervisor

About the role

Chalfont St Giles Village School, a Hard Federation between Chalfont St Giles Infant School and Nursery and Chalfont St Giles Junior School, is looking for a kind and caring midday supervisor to help deliver school meals and supervise children during lunch. The post is term-time only, part-time, Monday to Friday from 11.45am to 1.30pm, reporting to the Headteacher. It is advertised as a fixed-term position.

Key responsibilities

• Set up the lunch hall, help children eat and clear away at the end of lunch
• Supervise children while eating, playing and in the playground, and maintain standards of behaviour
• Supervise pupils on the school premises, in the Memorial Hall and school grounds, and in the toilets during and after lunch
• Arrange tables and seating before lunch and organise suitable activities during wet playtimes
• Administer first aid where required and record accidents in the accident books
• Follow the school's behaviour policy, encourage good manners and deal with minor discipline problems
• Inform the class teacher or deputy headteacher of any problems, such as lack of food or appetite issues

Required profile

• Kind, caring and reliable person who enjoys working with children
• No previous experience is necessary
• Applicants must declare unspent convictions and other spent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and must not be barred from regulated activity with children
