Multi Skilled Leisure Assistant Trainee

About the role

GLL is seeking a motivated Multi‑Skilled Leisure Assistant Trainee to join the Abraham Moss Library and Leisure Centre in Manchester. You will support a wide range of operational services, from customer front‑desk duties to delivering health‑focused activities such as gymnastics, swimming lessons and multisport sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, manage bookings and respond to enquiries.
• Assist the Duty and Assistant Manager in day‑to‑day centre operations.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate leisure‑based health and wellbeing sessions.
• Support centre‑based clubs, helping them grow and sustain their activities.
• Maintain health and safety standards across all areas of the centre.

Required profile

• Positive, can‑do attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and build relationships with diverse users.
• Reliability, punctuality and flexibility in working hours.
• Willingness to obtain or already hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 2 Teaching/Coaching Qualification in sport.

• Competitive salary of £27,351 per year during training, rising to £28,775 after qualification.
