.Net Engineer

About the role

Canada Life is looking for a .Net Engineer to help transform its IT landscape by removing legacy systems and delivering modern, market‑leading solutions. The role is hybrid, based in London with options to work from Watford or Bristol.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain strategic software solutions using .NET 6+ and C#.
• Write reusable, well‑documented, extensible code with unit tests.
• Consider performance, security, auditing and support requirements throughout development.
• Participate in technical design reviews, risk identification and mitigation.
• Build black‑box services, libraries and prototypes/Proofs of Concept.
• Facilitate CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment.
• Support acceptance testing and help resolve technical issues.
• Provide progress updates to project managers and team leads.
• Mentor peers through code reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• Experience delivering software in a Microsoft/Azure environment.
• Strong understanding of SOLID and clean‑code principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, product owners, architects and testers.
• Comfort with regular production deployments and continuous learning.
