Night Support Worker – 35 hrs/week – Belfast

About the role

The Night Support Worker provides 35 hours per week of night‑shift support at Stella Maris, a low‑threshold service for people experiencing alcohol dependency and homelessness. You will be the first point of contact for service users, agencies and visitors, ensuring a warm, professional and safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out reception, building management and cleaning duties while maintaining health‑and‑safety standards.
• Support service users with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, laundry and upkeep of their living space.
• Assist case workers by delivering activities that help service users meet personal goals (financial, creative, educational).
• Maintain accurate service‑user records, incident reports and project administration (petty cash, statistics, invoices).
• Ensure compliance with Depaul’s IT security and health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 GCSEs (A‑C) including Maths and English or equivalent.
• At least 1 year paid relevant work experience or 2 years relevant volunteering experience.
• Understanding of homelessness, alcohol dependency and the support services available.
• Ability to work a 7‑day night‑shift rota.
• Enhanced Access NI check and NISCC registration (or ability to obtain during probation).
