Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor – Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking an experienced non‑contentious construction solicitor to join a leading international law firm’s Birmingham team. You will work on high‑profile development and infrastructure projects, advising a diverse client base that includes developers, funders, contractors and investors.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties and guarantees.
• Prepare ancillary project documentation and ensure compliance with standard form contracts such as JCT and NEC.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Banking and Corporate colleagues to support complex, high‑value transactions from inception to completion.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide pragmatic, commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• 5+ years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in non‑contentious construction law.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate construction agreements with confidence.
• Commercial mindset and pragmatic problem‑solving approach.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to build relationships with clients and internal teams.

Required skills

• Familiarity with standard form construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
• Strong legal drafting and negotiation capabilities.
