Nursery Manager / Deputy Manager – Early Years Leader

About the role

This full‑time position offers the chance to lead a well‑established early‑years setting in London, creating a safe and stimulating environment for young children while supporting families and carers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the nursery team to maintain consistent high‑quality practice.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including staffing rotas and operational planning.
• Record and process funding hours accurately through relevant systems.
• Create a welcoming, safe, and development‑focused environment for children.
• Communicate regularly with parents and carers about children’s progress and wellbeing.
• Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage administrative duties such as records, audits, and payroll submissions.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, Early Years Manager or similar leadership role.
• Background working directly with children and understanding of child development principles.
• Level 3 Childcare qualification.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and childcare regulations.
• Minimum 1 year as a Nursery Manager OR 2 years as a Deputy Manager.
