Ocean Freight Export Operator – Manchester

About the role

Our client in Manchester is looking for an Ocean Freight Export Operator to join the Export team. You will ensure customer requirements are met, documents are processed efficiently, and high‑quality, compliant freight services are delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service following the company’s 10 Customer Commitments.
• Manage the end‑to‑end Ocean Freight Export process for designated customers.
• Communicate with customers to understand and meet their requirements.
• Administer operational data, including financial review.
• Support the Ocean Freight Manager’s objectives for profitability, volume growth, and service quality.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and service providers.
• Assist sales in interactions with key customers and implement the OFR strategy.
• Ensure compliance with country‑specific regulations and the client’s Code of Conduct.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ocean freight export and customer service.
• Ability to identify and meet customer needs professionally.
• Leadership skills to motivate a team and achieve KPIs.
• Strong attention to detail and results‑driven mindset.
• Excellent written and spoken English, telephone and email communication.
• Interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Commercial attitude with A‑level or broad GCSE‑level education.
