Operational Risk Associate

About the role

WTW’s Outsourcing business is expanding and needs an Operational Risk Associate to help keep its pension administration services resilient and well‑controlled. You will work closely with operational teams, senior stakeholders and Enterprise Risk Management to identify risks, strengthen controls and support data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct horizon scanning of regulatory developments and industry trends to anticipate emerging risks.
• Support risk assessments for new products and initiatives, ensuring operational resilience is considered early.
• Assist the Risk and Control Assessment (RACA) process, documenting and managing risks and controls.
• Investigate operational risk incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and drive preventative actions.
• Analyse incident data to identify trends, produce risk dashboards and support escalation.
• Maintain risk registers, dashboards and management information in the GRC system.

Required profile

• Experience in operational risk, controls, audit, compliance or governance within a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of risk assessments, control reviews, incident management and root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to analyse risk data and produce clear reports and dashboards.
• Knowledge of the Three Lines of Defence model and risk‑management principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
