Painter & Decorator

About the role

The successful candidate will join the Repairs Team to deliver high‑quality painting and decorating services across a large housing portfolio in Manchester. The role focuses on customer care, aiming for a “right first time” completion in both occupied and void properties, using a company vehicle to travel between sites.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the client professionally, upholding company values and delivering excellent service.
• Diagnose and resolve painting and decorating repair issues in a single visit wherever possible.
• Carry out a variety of interior and exterior painting, decorating and refurbishment tasks in occupied and empty properties.
• Follow health and safety legislation, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Maximise daily productivity, minimise material waste and manage van inventory.
• Adhere to a 40‑hour weekly rota, including weekdays (11:30‑20:00) and Saturdays (08:00‑16:30), and be punctual for resident appointments.
• Maintain accurate work records using mobile applications and internal systems.
• Identify and raise any safeguarding concerns and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Completed, accredited Painting & Decorating apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in Painting & Decorating.
• Proven experience in painting and decorating within residential or commercial settings.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in customer‑facing roles.
