Part-Qualified Management Accountant

About the role

Our client in Birmingham is looking for a Part‑Qualified Management Accountant with payroll experience to join their finance team. The role is full‑time, on‑site five days a week, and offers a salary of £40‑50k depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for the main entity and associated group businesses.
• Manage the purchase ledger and maintain supplier relationships across multiple units.
• Complete VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
• Administer payroll using payroll software, handling data entry and reporting.
• Oversee month‑end processes including reconciliations, journal entries and comprehensive reporting.
• Support year‑end accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain finance compliance, statutory filings and internal controls.
• Utilise Aria ERP for accounting operations.
• Collaborate with the Accounts Manager and report progress to senior management.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial support to smaller businesses within the group.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Management Accountant in any sector (manufacturing, public, retail, automotive, distribution).
• Strong understanding of management accounts preparation for multiple entities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month‑end close processes efficiently.
• Responsibility for profit & loss ownership and accurate reporting.
