Part‑time Checkout Assistant

About the role

Join Selco as a part‑time Checkout Assistant, working 20 hours per week in our Birmingham store. You will be the front‑line face of the business, delivering friendly, efficient service to every customer who comes to the till.

Key responsibilities

• Process transactions accurately using cash, debit/credit cards and store accounts.
• Identify and scan the correct materials, ensuring items are recorded and priced correctly.
• Provide excellent customer service, answering queries and resolving issues promptly.
• Maximise sales opportunities by promoting relevant products and offers.
• Maintain a tidy and organised checkout area.
• Complete full training on the till system and store procedures.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Basic numeracy and attention to detail.
