People Operations Manager – HR Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced People Operations Manager to lead the HR function for a fast‑growing group based in Trafford Park, Manchester. The role is highly visible, on‑site and involves partnering with managers and employees to deliver practical, commercially‑focused HR solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage employee relations across the group, ensuring compliance with UK employment law.
• Advise, coach and support managers on performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes, TUPE transfers and organisational restructures.
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle – recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance reviews, development and off‑boarding.
• Manage a small HR team, monitor workloads and maintain a high‑quality service.
• Maintain accurate HR administration, support payroll queries and manage HR, ATS and scheduling systems.
• Develop, review and implement HR policies, promote wellbeing initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or senior HR professional in a high‑volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice in employee relations.
• Ability to influence and coach managers while delivering commercial HR advice.
• Experience leading a small team and handling complex casework.

Required skills

• HR information systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) proficiency.
