People Partner – HR Business Partner

About the role

This People Partner role offers the chance to join a world‑renowned biomedical research institute as it rolls out a new people strategy. Working within a collaborative, fast‑paced People team, you will partner with senior leaders across scientific, operational and legal functions.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with senior leaders across science, operations and professional teams.
• Act as a trusted coach and sounding board, providing constructive challenge and pragmatic people solutions.
• Partner with specialist People teams to deliver initiatives across talent, succession, engagement and organisational development.
• Lead and develop People Advisors, ensuring clear separation between strategic partnering and day‑to‑day advisory activity.
• Use people data and insight to support decision‑making and drive change.
• Manage complex and sensitive employee‑relations matters, resource planning and organisational change.
• Support new Group Leaders and laboratories joining the organisation.
• Lead People projects and identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

Required profile

• Strong experience in a People Partner, HR Business Partner or similar generalist HR role.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with confidence to influence and challenge senior leaders.
• Pragmatic and flexible approach, adapting solutions rather than applying policy rigidly.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practice and employment law.
• Experience delivering people initiatives such as talent, succession planning or engagement.
• Proactive, energetic and comfortable working at pace within a complex organisation.
• Experience managing or developing others is beneficial.
