PHP Software Developer (Symfony)

About the role

As a PHP Software Developer specializing in Symfony, you will join Ricardo’s Digital Services team, now part of WSP, to build and enhance data‑intensive web applications that support environmental monitoring and emergency response solutions. You will work on both existing platforms and new projects that have a direct impact on air quality, energy management and chemical emergency services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and extend enterprise‑grade web applications using Symfony 6.4 or 7.4 LTS.
• Design clean domain models and well‑structured APIs that handle real‑time data collection, processing and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including environmental scientists and UX designers, to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead small projects or feature teams, ensuring timely delivery and high code quality.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production web applications with Symfony.
• Strong knowledge of modern PHP (8.x, including 8.4 features).
• Comfortable using Jira and Confluence for task and documentation management.
• Good organisational skills and a focus on delivering maintainable code.
