Platform Engineer II – Foundation

About the role

Platform Engineering at Chainalysis builds the shared infrastructure that powers every engineering team. As a Platform Engineer II on the Foundation team you will design, build, and operate core cloud, networking, Kubernetes and streaming primitives that support the company’s services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP using Terraform, creating reusable modules and patterns.
• Operate multi‑tenant EKS clusters, handling node lifecycle, upgrades, security contexts and networking.
• Drive the migration and tooling for streaming infrastructure from managed Kafka to WarpStream.
• Develop platform tooling and reconcilers in Go, working with the Kubernetes API to deliver self‑service primitives.
• Build and manage foundational networking and security components such as transit gateways, VPCs, ingress, IAM policies and IRSA.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, incident response and continuous improvement of runbooks and automation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of platform engineering experience building production‑grade infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, S3) and GCP networking.
• Proficiency with Terraform (or Pulumi/CloudFormation) and at least one scripting language (Go preferred, Python or Bash acceptable).
• Experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
