Postperson (Postal Delivery Driver) – Haywards Heath

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postperson delivering letters and parcels across Haywards Heath. You’ll work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and become the friendly face of the service for local customers.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling high volumes of mail and parcels.
• Travel to Burgess Hill Delivery Office every third Sunday as required.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit – able to walk up to 12 miles, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a busy, time‑pressured environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
