Primary Teacher – Year 1 Maternity Cover (Kensington & Chelsea)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced KS1 teacher to cover a two‑term maternity leave for a Year 1 class in a well‑rated primary school in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The successful candidate will join a friendly, inclusive team and start in September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a thriving Year 1 class and deliver the national curriculum.
• Support pupils as they transition into Year 2, maintaining strong academic progress.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and fellow teachers to uphold the school’s excellent Ofsted rating.
• Contribute to the school’s CPD programme and share best practice.
• Foster an inclusive, multicultural environment for a diverse student body.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching KS1 in a primary setting.
• Commitment to an enriched curriculum and a family‑focused ethos.
• Ability to work with children from varied social, religious and linguistic backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
