Principal Software Engineer – Go & AdTech (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing SaaS company that is reshaping how eCommerce brands acquire, engage and retain customers. As a Principal Software Engineer you will lead the technical direction of our advertising and marketing platform, working in a hybrid setting based in the West Midlands.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own highly scalable, cloud‑native systems that process large volumes of advertising and customer data.
• Define and drive technical strategy and engineering best practices across multiple teams.
• Develop and optimise backend services using Go (Golang).
• Build and maintain integrations with major advertising platforms and APIs.
• Collaborate with product, data and commercial teams to deliver innovative AdTech features.
• Mentor senior engineers and contribute to leadership initiatives.
• Champion performance, reliability, security and observability throughout the platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Principal, Staff, Lead or Senior engineering role.
• Strong commercial background with Go (Golang) development.
• Track record of building and scaling distributed SaaS platforms.
• Deep knowledge of cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands‑on experience in AdTech, MarTech or performance‑marketing contexts, including integration with advertising APIs.
