Private Client Solicitor – Wills & Estate Planning

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor (or Chartered Legal Executive) to join our well‑established legal team in London. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of private client matters, delivering high‑quality advice on wills, probate, estate planning and related services to individuals and families.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of private client matters including wills, estate planning, probate, powers of attorney, trust creation and administration, and inheritance tax planning.
• Provide clear, empathetic and professional advice to clients and families.
• Draft and prepare legal documents accurately and efficiently.
• Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, financial advisers and third parties.
• Handle complex estate administration matters where required.
• Ensure compliance with SRA regulations and relevant legislation.
• Maintain accurate case records and manage matters through to completion.
• Support business development and networking activities as appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) with experience in private client law.
• Proven experience handling high‑net‑worth estates and succession matters.
• Excellent client care and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and emotionally complex matters.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing a busy caseload independently.
