Private Client Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and private businesses. The role combines compliance work with strategic tax advisory across inheritance, capital gains, income tax, trusts, estates and international matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely compliance and high‑quality advisory services.
• Provide specialist advice on Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax, Trusts and Estates, and International Tax.
• Support the development and growth of the tax team, mentoring junior staff.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying further advisory opportunities.
• Contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the practice.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
• Significant experience in private client tax within an accountancy practice.
• Deep knowledge of personal tax planning, including IHT, CGT and Income Tax.
• Proven ability to manage client portfolios and deliver tax advisory work.
• Excellent communication, analytical and relationship‑building skills.
• Commercial, proactive and client‑focused approach.
• Ability to commute to the Birmingham office and work additional hours when required.

• Competitive salary between £50,000 and £70,000 per annum.
