Production Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

The role is based at the Bordon plant of the world’s leading manufacturer of DC‑DC converters and power supplies. As a Production Engineer you will develop, maintain and optimise manufacturing processes in an electronics production environment, ensuring efficiency, repeatability and compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support and improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, reduce waste and maintain product quality.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including flow charts, SOPs, work instructions and control plans.
• Conduct time‑and‑motion studies and implement changes to streamline workflow.
• Apply Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and root‑cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate production lines and recommend layout, tooling or automation enhancements.
• Collaborate with design, quality and production teams during New Product Introduction to ensure manufacturability.

Required profile

• Degree or HND/HNC in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role, preferably in electronics or electromechanical industry.

Required skills

• Lean Manufacturing methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, RCA).
• Process validation techniques (PFMEA, capability studies, first‑article inspection).
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems for routing, BOMs and production planning.
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, IPC and ESD practices.
