Professional Support Lawyer – Commercial Contracts & Data Protection

About the role

We are seeking a Professional Support Lawyer with expertise in commercial contracts and data protection to join our Birmingham team. The role focuses on developing and sharing legal knowledge, supporting lawyers and clients, and embedding innovative technologies such as AI into service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor legislative, case law and regulatory changes affecting commercial contracts and data protection, and produce clear updates for legal teams.
• Create, review and maintain precedent documents, practice notes and template resources.
• Develop practical resources and training materials to enhance legal excellence across the firm.
• Collaborate with commercial contracts and data protection specialists to embed new technologies into everyday workflows.
• Support lawyers and clients by providing expert guidance and improving legal processes.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial contracts and data protection law.
• Strong legal research and drafting abilities.
• Confidence using legal technology and a proactive attitude towards innovation.
• Experience delivering legal training or working as a Professional Support Lawyer is advantageous.
