Programme Manager – Retail Transformation (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead a high‑profile retail transformation programme for SRG in Manchester. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery, ensuring technology initiatives align with seasonal trading cycles, operational realities and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of a major retail programme, aligning technology with operational and trading needs.
• Develop and maintain programme plans, road‑maps and milestones that reflect business priorities and peak periods.
• Collaborate with retail operations, compliance, risk, payments and engineering teams to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Manage risks, dependencies and resource allocation across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Provide clear reporting and insight to senior stakeholders on progress, risks and outcomes.
• Implement structured governance, performance metrics and appropriate delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall or hybrid).
• Lead internal teams and external partners, fostering alignment and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex programmes in retail or similarly regulated, customer‑focused sectors.
• Strong knowledge of retail trading cycles, store and online operations, and compliance standards.
• Experience managing programmes with significant regulatory components such as payments, PCI‑DSS or GDPR.
• Ability to work across cross‑functional teams and influence senior leadership.
