Project Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

This permanent position offers end‑to‑end ownership of customer programmes and manufacturing projects within a high‑precision aerospace environment. You will act as the key link between customers, suppliers and internal departments, ensuring orders are delivered on time, within budget and fully compliant with AS9100 and company procedures. The role involves leading the Production Control team to improve planning, scheduling, material availability and capacity management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple customer programmes from order receipt through to final delivery, building detailed project plans, milestones and risk mitigation actions.
• Lead the Production Control team, aligning schedules to customer requirements, reviewing work orders and maximising throughput.
• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing and logistics to ensure resources, tooling and documentation are in place.
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors, expediting critical deliveries and resolving issues that impact schedules.
• Use MRP/ERP systems to monitor demand, material availability, job progression and capacity.
• Track operational and financial KPIs, report delivery performance and drive continuous improvement to reduce lead times.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ project or programme management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or defence.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or line‑management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP and manufacturing planning/scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards and regulated audit environments.
• Experience with Lean/continuous improvement and supply‑chain optimisation.
• Exposure to Epicor/Kinetic systems.
