Proposition Governance Lead

About the role

The Proposition Governance Lead will provide independent challenge, regulatory insight, and governance assurance for a growing re‑insurance provider. You will maintain robust governance frameworks, oversee regulatory compliance, and ensure that risks, decisions and outcomes are clearly documented.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and oversee the governance framework for retail retirement propositions, ensuring compliance with Consumer Duty and PROD4 requirements.
• Provide regulatory oversight, identify and escalate risks, and ensure decisions are robustly documented.
• Independently assess product performance, customer outcomes and governance data to spot regulatory risks and emerging trends.
• Deliver evidence‑based challenge and recommendations to senior stakeholders, escalating material concerns when needed.
• Own and maintain the Proposition Development Procedure (PDP) and Proposition Governance Process (PGP) documentation.
• Lead annual Fair Value Assessments and Product Reviews for all retail products, meeting regulatory expectations and deadlines.
• Monitor, interpret and translate regulatory publications on Consumer Duty and PROD4 into practical governance controls.
• Collaborate with Retail and Group risk, compliance and technical teams to ensure consistent regulatory governance.
• Act as subject‑matter expert and champion strong governance standards across the business.

Required profile

• Experience in a governance, regulatory, risk or technical role within pensions, retirement markets or financial services.
• Strong practical knowledge of Consumer Duty and PROD4 from a product manufacturer perspective.
• Proven track record implementing or providing assurance over Consumer Duty or similar regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and convert them into clear governance processes and documentation.
• Strong analytical skills with experience assessing data, customer outcomes and product performance through a regulatory lens.
